The coffee
is always ready
Want to know more, wonder whether a bottle is worth listing, or simply feel like talking about whisky? Write to us, ring us, or make an appointment and see the racks in Groningen for yourself.
There is no call centre and no ticket queue for general questions. Your message lands with the same small team that photographs the bottles and packs the boxes, and it is usually answered the same working day.

Tell us what you
would like to know
Pick a subject, write as much or as little as you like, and we will come back to you. Messages sent during the week are almost always answered the same day.
Most questions are already answered
Fill levels, bidding, payment, shipping and duty all have a page of their own, written out in full. It is worth a look before you write.
Wondering what a bottle is worth?
Send us a photograph and we will tell you honestly what we think it will make, including the times the answer is that it is not worth listing.
Already have a lot, an order or an invoice with us?
Anything to do with a specific bid, payment or shipment goes through the ticket system in your account, where it stays attached to your file instead of getting lost in a mailbox.
Come and visit
Stavangerweg 23-16,
Groningen
Everything happens in one building: the photography, the storage, the packing and the answers to your e-mails. You are welcome to come and see it, as long as you let us know you are coming.
We are in the harbour area on the north-west edge of Groningen, ten minutes from the ring road, with parking in front of the door. The unit number matters: 23-16 is at the back of the block.

Always by appointment
There are no walk-in hours. Every visit is arranged beforehand, whether you are collecting bottles you have won, dropping off bottles of your own, or simply coming to look around.
It is not us being difficult: most of the day the team is up a rack, behind a camera or out on a collection route, and an appointment is what makes sure somebody is free for you.
How to arrange one
One e-mail or one phone call is enough. Tell us roughly when suits you and what you are coming for, and we will confirm a day and a time.
If you are bringing bottles in, say how many. More than a handful and we will set aside the space and the hands to receive them properly.
What happens next
Where your message goes
once you press send
Not into a queue, and not to an agency. Here is who reads it, how quickly you can expect an answer, and the two or three things that make that answer a great deal more useful.
- Who reads it One of about four people
-
There is no contact centre between you and us. Your message goes to the same mailbox that Martin and Jelger read, and it is answered by whoever knows the most about what you asked.
That also means the person replying about a fill level is very often the person who photographed the bottle, and can simply walk over to the rack and look again.
- How long it takes Usually the same working day
-
Messages that arrive on a working day are almost always answered before that day is out. Anything that lands over the weekend is picked up on Monday.
If a question needs a bottle to be pulled out of storage and inspected, we will say so and come back to you once it has actually been done rather than guess.
- What to send along Photographs, always
-
For anything about a specific bottle — a valuation, a condition question, whether we would take it — a couple of clear photographs of the front, the back and the fill level answers more than a page of description.
If it is about a lot already in the auction, the lot number is enough. If it is about an order, the order number is enough. We can find the rest ourselves.
- What we do with your details Answer you, and nothing more
-
Your name, e-mail address and telephone number are used to reply to this message. You are not added to a mailing list, and nothing is passed on to anybody else.
A copy of what you sent goes to your own inbox as well, so you have a record of it without having to trust ours.
