Sell with us at 0%

Whatever the hammer makes,
you keep all of it

We take no commission on what your bottle sells for. Not a sliding scale, not a reduced rate for larger consignments — nothing. Our margin sits in the premium the buyer pays on top of their bid, which is where it belongs.

Fill in the seller form below and one of our specialists takes it from there: a valuation, a way to get the bottles to Groningen, and a place in the next auction. First time selling at auction? Then you are in exactly the right place — we walk you through all of it.

The seller form

Tell us what you have,
we will do the rest

It takes a couple of minutes and nothing about it is binding. Give us your contact details, roughly what you are selling and where the bottles are, and one of our specialists comes back to you — usually within a working day or two — to agree the details.

You do not need an account to send it. If you do not have one yet, we set it up with you afterwards.

Book a slot on a collection route

Every month our own van drives a planned route through the Benelux, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and northern France. Pick the one that passes closest to you and we collect the bottles at your door — free of charge, insured from the moment they leave your table.

Or arrange a personal collection

For a larger collection, an estate or anything that will not wait for the next route, we come to you separately. Give us a call or drop us a line and we will find a date.

Let us start with your contact details

Enough to write back to you and, where a collection needs arranging, to call you. Nothing else is done with them.

Next up: your collection

How many bottles are we talking about? An estimate is fine — it only tells us how much time and how many boxes to plan for.

The more of this you can include, the sooner we can come back with a valuation and advice on getting the bottles to us.

  • Distillery, brand name and/or bottler
  • Vintage year, year bottled, age statement (or NAS)
  • Cask type and/or cask number, outturn
  • Strength (ABV) and volume as mentioned on the label
  • Fill level, and the state of the label and packaging
  • Number of bottles, if you have more than one of the same

Quicker still: if you have the Whiskybase numbers, just put those in. One number identifies a bottle exactly, and there is then no need to type out any of the rest.

If you have a list, you can upload it here (optional)

How would you like the bottles to reach us?

We can collect them at your address, or you can deliver them to one of our depots by appointment — which takes a slice off your listing fee. Not sure yet? Leave it as it is and we will work it out together.

Finally, your address

We still need it for your account and your payout, even though you are delivering the bottles to our depot in Belgium yourself.

Sending this form puts nothing up for sale. We use your details to answer it and to set up your seller account, and for nothing else.

The claim, and the arithmetic behind it

What 0%
actually means

Nought percent of the hammer price. If your bottle makes € 400, four hundred euros goes onto your settlement and nothing is deducted from it as a share of the sale.

What it does not mean is that selling is free of every charge. There is a listing fee per bottle, and a reserve price fee if you want a floor under the bidding. Both are flat amounts you can work out before you register a single bottle — which is the whole reason they are printed here.

Everything else is included: the inspection, the photography, the catalogue text, the storage until the auction, and the packing and shipping to whoever wins it.

And when does the money arrive?

Buyers are invoiced the moment the auction closes and have three days to settle. Once their payment is in, we normally pay you out within ten working days — you do not have to chase anybody and you do not have to wait for the parcel to be delivered.

Seller commission None, on any lot
Whatever the hammer lands on is what goes into your settlement. There is no percentage taken off the top, no threshold above which one starts, and no separate rate for rare bottles. Our margin comes from the premium the buyer pays on top of their bid.
Listing fee € 7,00 per bottle
The administrative fee for checking, photographing, describing and listing a bottle. It is charged whether or not the bottle sells, and it buys you one free relisting if it does not. It is the only fee most sellers ever see.
Reserve price fee € 6,50 per lot, optional
Only if you want a minimum hammer price. Reserves have to be realistic — as a rule the expected hammer price should be over € 100 and the reserve no more than 80% of what comparable bottles have made. If you set none, there is nothing to pay.
Depot discount Minus 25% to 50%
Not a cost but a rebate. Deliver your bottles to one of our depots and a quarter of the listing fee comes straight back, half of it if you supply the Whiskybase IDs as well. Nothing to claim, no code to enter — the form below asks you about it.

From this form to your payout

What happens
after you send it

Four steps. Only the first two ask anything of you, and neither of them asks much.

1

You send the form

Roughly what you have, how many bottles, and where they are. A specialist reads it, comes back to you within a working day or two and agrees the details — including a realistic idea of what the bottles should make.

If you would rather know that figure before committing to anything, ask for a valuation first. It costs nothing either way.

2

The bottles come to us

We collect them at your door on one of our monthly routes, you drop them at a depot for a discount on the listing fee, or you send them yourself. All three end at the same table in Groningen.

On a collection we bring the packaging and leave you a receipt listing everything we have taken. From that moment the bottles are insured with us.

3

We catalogue and auction

Every bottle is inspected, weighed where it needs to be, photographed and written up. Your lots appear in your seller dashboard, where you can follow the bidding live as it happens.

A lot that does not sell rolls into the next auction at no extra cost — the listing fee already covers one free relisting.

4

You get paid

After the auction closes you receive a statement setting out every hammer price and every deduction, line by line. The hammer price itself arrives whole: we take no commission on it.

Once the buyer has settled — they have three days — the payout normally reaches your account within ten working days.

The question halfway down the form

How your bottles
get to Groningen

Every bottle is inspected here before it goes into a catalogue, so at some point it has to make the journey. The form asks which of these three you would like — and none of them is a decision you are stuck with. Tell us what suits you and we will sort out the rest by e-mail.

We collect at your door

Book a slot on the monthly route that passes closest to you and our own people come to you — never a parcel courier. It costs nothing, there is no minimum, and we bring the packaging with us.

Pick a route in the sidebar above and the form fills that part in for you.

You deliver to a depot

Three depots — in Belgium, Germany and Denmark — where you hand the bottles over on a day that suits you rather than waiting for the van. By appointment only.

It saves us the detour, so it saves you 25% of the listing fee, or 50% if the Whiskybase IDs come with them.

You send them yourself

Your own carrier is fine, and plenty of sellers use one. Choose a service with track and trace, and insure the parcel for what the whisky is worth rather than what the box weighs.

Until the bottles are in our hands they are still your responsibility, so pack them as though the parcel will be dropped. Sooner or later, one of them is.

Whichever you pick, we confirm every bottle once it has been inspected — so you always know it arrived and that it passed.

Before you fill it in

Questions about
selling with us

The full seller guide is on our selling whisky page, every fee is listed on our pricing page, and anything neither of them covers you can simply ask us.
Is 0% really 0%?

Yes. We take no share of the hammer price, whatever the bottle makes and however many you sell. What you do pay is a flat listing fee per bottle, and a reserve price fee per lot if you want a floor under the bidding — both printed on this page and on the pricing page.

Our margin comes from the premium the buyer pays on top of their bid. That way the person deciding what a bottle is worth is the one paying our fee, not the person who owned it.

Does sending this form commit me to anything?

No. It starts a conversation, nothing more. Nothing is listed, no fee is charged and no bottle changes hands until you have agreed the details with the specialist who gets in touch.

If you change your mind before the bottles come to us, simply say so and that is the end of it.

Do I need an account first?

No. Send the form as a guest and we will set the account up together afterwards — it has to exist eventually, because that is where your lots, your bidding and your settlement live.

If you are already logged in, your details and your address are filled in for you and the form is a good deal shorter.

How many bottles do I need before it is worth it?

One. There is no minimum, no bundle to make up and no different treatment for a small consignment — a single bottle goes through exactly the same inspection, photography and catalogue as a cellar does.

What is worth checking is whether the bottle will clear its listing fee. If you are not sure, ask us for a free valuation before you commit to anything.

I do not know exactly what I have. Can I still send it?

Please do. A rough count and a couple of photographs of the shelves are enough to get started — you are not filling in a catalogue entry, you are telling us there is something worth looking at.

If it is an inherited collection or an estate, say so in the description. Those we handle by phone, because there is usually more to sort out than a form can carry.

What if a bottle does not sell?

It rolls into the next auction at no extra cost. The listing fee already covers one free relisting, and a lot that missed its moment often finds a buyer in the following sale.

If it still does not sell after that, we will talk to you about the reserve, the estimate or simply sending the bottle back.

Can you collect outside the countries on the routes?

Often, yes — the published routes are the regular ones, not the limit of where we will go. For a larger collection we will come further, and for a smaller one we will look at a depot or a shipping label instead.

Fill in the form with your address and we will tell you honestly what makes sense from where you are.

Should I set a reserve price?

Only if you genuinely would not part with the bottle below a certain figure. A reserve costs a fee per lot, and an unrealistic one is the most common reason a good bottle goes unsold.

As a rule of thumb: expect the hammer price to be over € 100 before a reserve is worth setting, and keep the reserve itself at no more than 80% of what comparable bottles have made.

Will you take everything I send?

Nearly always, but not automatically. Bottle seals have to be intact, fill levels have to be above the low shoulder, and in unforeseen circumstances we keep the final word on what goes into a catalogue.

The whole standard is written out on our what we auction page, including the cases where we would rather point you somewhere better suited than take the bottle on.

Put your whisky
in the next auction

Tell us what you have and where it is. We will come back with a valuation, a date and a way of getting the bottles to Groningen — and the hammer price stays yours.
